Transpersonal Retreats UK
Our UK psychotherapy retreats are designed as immersive, professionally facilitated spaces where psychological depth work meets transpersonal exploration. Created with established transpersonal psychology frameworks, the retreats are informed by practitioners with clinical training, specialist expertise, and therapeutic experience in working with expanded states of awareness and integrative healing processes. From preparation to integration, every stage is designed to support participants in making meaningful, grounded sense of their inner experience, rather than leaving insight disconnected. In line with our mission to bridge psychology and consciousness-based development, our retreats provide a credible, structured environment for deep personal work that remains grounded in professional therapeutic standards.

What is a Transpersonal Retreat?
A Transpersonal retreat is a temporal immersive therapeutic environment where psychological work is conducted in a controlled space, far from everyday distractions, usually in a guided individual format.
In the traditional psychotherapy term, a retreat should compress months-long therapeutic work into a concentrated experiential arc. A typical retreat includes:
• Extended daily therapeutic sessions
• Group processes and shared reflection
• Body-based or experiential practices like breathwork, meditation, and expressive arts
• Structured psychological exploration over several days
• Integration work to help participants process insights safely after deep emotional or transpersonal experiences
Within our transpersonal frameworks, our retreat includes expanded states of consciousness, meaning-making, and spiritual/existential exploration, not just symptom reduction.
For Individuals Ready to Explore Beyond Conventional Therapy
Our transpersonal retreat is designed for people who are seeking deep psychological, existential, emotional, and spiritual transformation, not just a reaction retreat. The retreat is for you if you find yourself in the following group:

Led by Experienced Clinicians, Psychotherapists & Consciousness Practitioners
We believe a psychology retreat should be built around facilitators whose abilities are not limited to being academically trained alone. They must have also personally undergone their own inner-process work and psychedelic experiences within a transpersonal framework.
At BTA, our facilitators come from proven diverse therapeutic and healthcare backgrounds, including psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, doctors, mental health nurses, spiritual directors, transpersonal therapists, mindfulness, and meditation practitioners, to mention a few.
Our facilitators receive extensive training in all aspects of Transpersonal Psychology. This training is usually carried out by us or any recognised institution whose principles align with our educational framework.
Additionally, part of the selection criteria for our retreat facilitators is that they must have either undergone their own psychedelic journey, engaged deeply with altered states themselves, or continue studying consciousness work personally or professionally.
Meet The Team
Diane Elliot
Diane is one of the central figures behind our retreats. She has a degree in consciousness studies and has 20 years of experience working with groups. She also serves as a trainer for psychedelic facilitators.
A Thoughtfully Structured Retreat Experience
The structure of our retreat is built on one core principle: preparation, safe facilitation, deep inner exploration, and long-term integration are all equally important parts of transformation, not just the psychedelic ceremony itself. Our retreats are structured as follows:
Pre-retreat preparation
This is where participants are prepared emotionally, psychologically, and practically before they arrive. It includes guided intention-setting, group "pod" meetings, and online preparation sessions designed to build trust, reduce anxiety, and create a shared foundation for the retreat journey.
Arrival and psychological grounding
Upon arrival, participants are gently settled into the environment through welcome sessions, group introductions, and psychological orientation. This is to achieve safety, connection, and emotional safe harbour for the deeper work ahead.
The immersive retreat experience and ceremony
This is the immersive phase of the retreat, and it's all about a guided psilocybin ceremony within a therapeutic and legally structured setting. Also, participants are encouraged to participate in supportive practices like breathwork, reflective writing, meditation, and group processes.
Post-retreat integration and continued support
Integration runs throughout the retreat and continues afterwards through structured group sessions and online support. This is to help participants rationalise their experiences, stabilise insights, and translate inner shifts into meaningful changes in everyday life.
Frequently Asked Questions About our Transpersonal Retreats
What makes your retreat different from a typical wellness retreat?
We combine psychotherapeutic depth with Transpersonal Psychology to create an experience designed for emotional healing, self-exploration, psychological insights, and personal transformation. This means our retreat isn't just a relaxation or a form of escapism.
Are your retreats only for people interested in psychedelics?
No, they are not. While we offer legal psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands, the broader therapeutic framework is built around Transpersonal Psychology, emotional processing, embodiment practices, breathwork, reflection, and consciousness exploration. Our philosophy extends beyond psychedelics into psychological and spiritual development more broadly.
Why do you host retreats in the Netherlands instead of the UK?
We currently hold our psychedelic retreats in the Netherlands because psilocybin truffle ceremonies operate legally there within licensed retreat settings. Our UK retreat is planned separately.
